POLICE PROBE SUSPICIOUS FIRE IN NORTH BELFAST

Fire crew sceneDETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious fire at a building in the Clifton Street area of North Belfast late last night,  Wednesday, December 10.

Police say that around 11.50 pm, officers received a report that a shop was on fire.

The premises were badly damaged as a result.

There was no report of any injuries.

Detective Constable Gareth Hussey said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact detectives at Tennant Street on the non emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
