WOMAN TIED UP DURING NORTH BELFAST BURGLARY

Police scene armed copDETECTIVES are investigating after a woman in her sixties had her hands bound with cable ties during an aggravated house burglary.

The incident happened on Sunday night when a number of masked males entered the woman’s home on the Cavehill Road in North Belfast at around 9pm.

One man bound her hands with cable ties while the second man searched the house.

They made off with a sum of money and the alarm was raised.

Detectives believe the two males may have been accompanied by a third however this male remained unseen by the victim.

She has been able to give detectives a description of the robbers.

The first suspect is described as around 5’ 8” tall of stocky build.

He was wearing a dark green hoody, grey tracksuit bottoms and a Halloween mask.

The second is described as taller than the first and thin.

He was wearing a black coloured bomber jacket and had a scarf over his face.

Detectives want to speak to witnesses or anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation.
