TWO CHARGED OVER BRUTAL HOUSE BURGLARY

Omagh magistrates courtDETECTIVES have charged two men, aged 39 and 35, with intent to endanger life, aggravated burglary, grievous bodily harm and firearms offences.

The charges relate to an aggravated burglary on the Moat Road, Ballymena, Co Antrim, on Friday.

The men are due in Coleraine Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday, December 1.

A 36-year-old man arrested in connection with the same incident has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The 39-year-old is also charged with a number of driving offences including dangerous driving.

During the incident, a number of men entered the victim’s home on Moat Road on Friday armed with hammers and a handgun.

The men then fled in a waiting vehicle with a sum of cash.

A woman and two children who were also in the house were shaken by the incident but not injured.

During follow up inquiries, two men were later arrested in Newtownabbey and another in Antrim.
