DETECTIVES from PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit investigating ongoing dissident republican activity have carried out a number of searches.
They took place in the Ardoyne area of North of Belfast last night, Wednesday 26 November.
Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes said: “Detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit, assisted by local police, carried out searches at two properties last night.
“A number of items were seized and taken away for forensic examination”.
The raids are part of ongoing inquiries to trace the terrorist who fired a hand held mortar at a police landrover in Ardoyne ten days ago.
The device penetrated the armour but failed to detonate on impact.
