ARSON PROBE AFTER SHED AND OIL TANK SET ON FIRE

PSNIDETECTIVES in Newtownabbey are investigating a suspected arson attack in the Glenview Crescent area in the early hours of Sunday 12th October.

Dtective Inspector David Skelly explains: “Police received a report of a fire at a house in the area shortly after 3 am.

“The fire is believed at this stage to have started in a shed in the garden and spread to oil tanks and the house.

“The female occupant of the house had been woken and alerted to the blaze by a neighbour and had left the house uninjured.

“Substantial damage was caused to the house and neighbouring properties.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we have received a report that a group of youths were in the area at around 3am and we would be keen to speak with any of these youths.

“I would also ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID in Newtownabbey on 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
