CRAFTY cops tracked a serial burglar by helicopter on Tuesday night after four homes in Co Antrim were targeted.

PSNI officers tracked the vehicle to Doagh by police helicopter and arrested a 51-year-old man.

He was charged by detectives on Wednesday with four counts of burglary, driving while disqualified, no insurance and going equipped for theft.

The three burglaries took place at houses in Laurelhill Road, Coole Green and Kylemore Road.

The suspect was also charged with a distraction burglary offence alleged to have happened on the same night, at a home in Erinvale, Armoy.

He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Catherine Magee said: “I would take this opportunity to again encourage neighbours to look out for each other.

“In this instance, police received a call from a member of the public with a good description of a vehicle. This greatly helped us to make the arrest.”
