POLICE in north Belfast are appealing for information following the report of criminal damage to a house in the York Crescent area in the early hours of this morning.

Inspector James Murphy said: “Police received a report that a number of windows at the house had been smashed at around 3am.

“At this stage we are treating the incident as a race hate crime and I would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact officers at York Road on the non emergency number 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
