Sister Frances Forde died in two vehicle crash

THE funeral is to take place today of two nuns killed in a car crash with a police jeep.

Sister Frances Forde and Sister Marie Duddy died after their car was in collision with a police car on the A1 outside Newry, Co Down on Tuesday morning.

The nuns were members of the Sister of Mercy order, based at Ballysillan House on the Crumlin Road in Belfast.

The funeral mass will be held in Holy Cross Church in Ardoyne.

Three policemen suffered minor injuries in the collision.

The crash is being investigated by the Police Ombudsman.
