Police at Woodbourne station appeal for information over west Belfast robbery

A CRIMINAL gang is believed to have been behind a robbery during which two members of staff at a popular electronics shop.

A substantial quantity of top of the range televisions were stolen.

Police say the staff were found uninjured but were left badly shaken after the armed robbery in west Belfast which unfolded just after 8.30 am on Monday morning.

A worker was opening up the store when four masked men forced him into Noel Grimley Electrics Ltd on the Andersonstown Road.

The gang threatened him with what is believed to have been a sawn-off shotgun.

The robbers put a hood over his head and tied his hands behind his back before he was forced into a storeroom.

When a second member of staff arrived, he was also forced into the storeroom.

Detectives at Woodbourne CID have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on the 101 non emergency number or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
