CAR STOLEN AND BURNT OUT AFTER WEST BELFAST THEFT

musgrave psniPOLICE are appealing for information following the report of the theft of a vehicle in the Monagh Drive area of Belfast last week.

Speaking of the incident, Sergeant Brian Mills, Case Progression Team (CPT), Musgrave Street, said: “It is reported that at sometime between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Wednesday, September 17, , an unknown man approached the driver of a red Daewoo Matiz after he had parked the car and was locking it and pushed hi to the ground before taking the car keys and driving off in the car.

“The driver did not sustain any injuries in the incident; the car was later found burnt out in the Roumania Rise area of Belfast.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Police at CPT, Musgrave Street on the non-emergency number, 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111”, he said.
