TWO HELD AFTER CAR STOLEN IN SOUTH BELFAST ‘CREEPER’ BURGLARY

musgrave psniTWO men are being questioned after a car was stolen in a south Belfast ‘creeper’ burglary.

Police say that shortly after 5.00 am this morning, Wednesday, July 23, officers  received a report of a burglary in the Ava Gardens area off the Omeau Road.

Car keys and a mobile phone were taken from a house and subsequently the vehicle was taken.

“Police that responded to the report.

“As a result, a 21 year old male and a 22 year old male for burglary.

“The car has since been recovered in the Deramore Avenue area.

“Enquiries into the incident are continuing.”

There have been a number of house break-ins and ‘creeper’ burglaries in the Ormeau area over recent months.

Police have stepped up patrols in an effort to try and catch criminals operating under the cover of darkness.
