POLICE in west Belfast are appealing for information over an assault outside licensed premises in the Falls Road area in the early hours of Sunday 6th July.

It was reported that a male was assaulted by a group of males as he attempted to intervene in an ongoing incident sometime between 2 am and 3 am.

Officers believed the male had part of his ear bitten off during the assault.

Enquiries into the incident are continuing.

Police would ask anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area or who has any information about the incident to contact them at Grosvenor Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
