MAN STABBED AFTER RIVAL GANGS CLASH IN SOUTH BELFAST

Police scene armed copDETECTIVES areĀ appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the Ormeau Bridge area in south Belfast in the early hours of Saturday 12 July.

At approximately 3.10am, police received a report that a man had been stabbed and that rival factions were fighting in the area.

The 28 year old man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police attended the area and the two groups were separated at approximately 3.30am.

Officers stayed in the area for several more hours to ensure that the area remained calm.
