POLICE are investigating after a six-year-old boy was left in a serious condition in hospital after a road accident in Newtownabbey.
It is understood the boy was struck by a car on the Carnmoney Road.
The incident happened earlier between the junction with Glebcoole Park and junction with Portland Avenue.
The boy is the second child to be injured on Tuesday.
A 12-year-old girl has also been struck by a car on the Foyle Road in Derry.
However, her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
