Former ACC Duncan McCausland released from police custody on Thursday night

TWO men -aged 34 and 54 – who were arrested in England on Tuesday as part of an investigation into the awarding of a number of PSNI vehicle contracts have been released pending a report being sent to the Public Prosecution Service.

The PSNI say two other suspects remain in custody.

They are a 48 year old police officer arrested on Tuesday and a 71 year old civilian arrested yesterday in Co Down.

Three other men have already been released pending reports to the PPS.

They are:

* a 37 year old member of police staff who has also been suspended from duty;

* former PSNI Assitant Chief Constable Duncan McCausland, aged 54.

* and a 62 year old civilian.
