DRUGS CRACKDOWN LEADS TO TEN ARRESTS

strand-road-police-station-derry-google-1-1-400x240-20131121-132010-438-1-264x240TEN men, aged between 17 and 41, have been arrested on suspected drugs offences by police in the North West in the past week.

The arrests took place at addresses throughout the city of Derry.

Two men, aged 31 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of supplying a Class B drug following a search of a house in the Bogside area.

A 41-year-old man was detained after police found suspected Class B drugs during a search in the Waterside area of the city.

A 34-year-old man was arrested for possessing a Class B drug in the Edenballymore area.

Three men, aged 39, 41 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply after a car was stopped at Beechwood Crescent.

A 24-year-old man was detained on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs following a house search at Northland Road.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug following a house search at John Street.

And a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug in the Moss Park area.

The 41-year-old detained at Beechwood Crescent was remanded in custody and the 24-year-old released on bail when they appeared separately at Derry Magistrates Court.

The remaining eight were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
