POLICE are investigating after a seven-year-old boy died after being found at the bottom of cliffs.

The yet unnamed boy was missing for at least an hour on Sunday evening in Ballycastle.

It is understood he was playing with friends near a holiday park when he fell from the cliffs.

Emergency services scrambled into action involving the RNLI, Coastguard and a Royal Navy Seaking helicopter.

After he was located, the boy was taken to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine by helicopter.

However, it is understood the boy later died of his injuries.
