DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Inquiry Team have charged a 41-year-old man with the murder of a woman.

Police believe 32-year-old Denise Dunlop was stabbed several times in her home in Ballymena on Sunday morning.

The murder happened at Centuripe Avenue on the site of the former St Patrick’s Barracks which housed the Royal Irish Regiment.

Following the discovery of her body on Sunday morning, a man was arrested at taken into custody to PSNI Ballymena station.

He was charged with her murder on Sunday night.

The suspect is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court later on Monday morning.
