DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have recovered a number of weapons during an operation against dissident republicans.

During planned raids on Sunday, search teams found two handguns.

Police also recovered a number of suspected petrol bombs in Strabane, Co Tyrone on Sunday afternoon.

The search operation is part of an ongoing crackdown by the PSNI against dissidents in the area.
