ROBBERY PROBE AFTER MASKED MAN HOLDS UP SHOP WITH SCREWDRIVER

PSNIDETECTIVES in Lisburn are appealing for information following an armed robbery of commercial premises in the Ballymacash Road area of Lisburn yesterday, Saturday, June 14.

Police say that at around 4.05 pm a male person, wearing a scarf around his face and armed with a screwdriver entered the premises.

He went behind the counter and threatened a female member of staff with the screwdriver before making off with the cash register drawer.

The male got into a Renault Laguna car, Reg No HT04 NAU, which was stolen in a creeper burglary in the Cloona Park area of Dunmurry on Wednesday, 11 June.

There was a second male in the car.

The female assistant was not injured during this incident, however she was left very badly shaken.

Detectives would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who saw this car between Wednesday, 11 June and Saturday, 14 June to call Detectives in Lisburn on the non emergency number 101.

Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
