DETECTIVES in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following an armed robbery that occurred in the Bridewell Drive area of Carrickfergus on the morning of Monday 2 June.

At approximately 7am, two masked men entered a shop, threatened the female staff member and demanded money.

The woman, aged in her 60s, was tied up by the men before they made off with a sum of cash.

One of the men is described as being of medium build, was wearing a blue anorak and was armed with a knife.

The other man is described as being of medium build and was wearing a black jacket.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
