MAN ROBBED OF LAPTOP AND PHONE BY THIEVES ARMED WITH SCREWDRIVER

Strabane PSNI stationPOLICE in Antrim are appealing for information following the report of a robbery in the Belmont Road area on Wednesday 28th May.

At around 10.45am as a man was walking through the pedestrian tunnel below the Belmont Road near Cunningham Way he was approached by two males, one armed with a screwdriver, who demanded his rucksack.

The blue coloured rucksack containing a Dell lap top computer, a Canon EOS6d camera and lens and a Samsung S5 mobile phone was handed over and the two males then ran off in the direction of the Weir.

The first male was described as being in his late 20’s, around 5’8″ tall of slim build with short shaven fair hair. He was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans.

The second male was described as being mid 20’s, slightly shorter than his accomplice, of slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing a navy coloured zip up hooded top and blue jeans.

Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them in Antrim on the non-emergency number 101.
