DETECTIVES are investigating after a man in his 30s has been stabbed in the stomach in south Belfast.

Police said the stabbing happened somewhere in the area of Donegall Road, Donegall Avenue and Tates Avenue between 5.45 pm 6.15 pm on Thursday during an altercation.

The man has been taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident to contact them.
