Omagh bomb suspect Seamus Daly charged with the murders of 29 people

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have arrested a 47 year old man on Wednesday morning.

It is part of an ongoing historical investigation into a Real IRA car bomb attack on Moira police station in 1998.

The suspect was arrested in the Dungannon area this morning and has been taken to Antrim serious crime suite questioning.

A woman was recently arrested in connection with the same attack but was later released.

During the attack on February 20, 1998, injuring a number of civilians and causing extensive damage to the station and surrounding properties.

It is one of a series of attacks carried out by the Real IRA that year against police stations and commercial targets in town centres.

Last month Seamus Daly was arrested and charged with murders of 29 people in the Real IRA bomb attack on Omagh in August 1998.

He appeared in court yesterday via videolink from Maghaberry prison and was remanded in continuing custody.
