PIPE BOMB DEFUSED IN WEST BELFAST SECURITY ALERT

Primary school bomb alertARMY Technical Officers have defused a pipe bomb in west Belfast.

The PSNI say the security alert in the Glenkeen area of Poleglass ended at approximately 6.30 pm on Thursday evening.

ATO had been tasked to the scene following a report of suspicious object having been found.

It was later declared it to be a viable pipe bomb type device and has been taken away for further examination.

All roads have been reopened in the area and all evacuated residents are now able to return to their homes.
