Perfect Pitch for Happy Campers…
ANDREW Norris, a Queen’s University software graduate and entrepreneur gets the 2014 caravanning and camping season under way this Easter by launching GoCampingNI.com, which he developed to be the first real-time online booking system for camp sites across Northern Ireland.
It’s hoped this unique and pioneering software product will help double the annual 100,000 camping and caravanning ‘staycations’ and attract more tourists to our shores.
With the annual camping and caravanning sector here worth in excess of £2M to site owners, this real-time online booking system enables lovers of our great outdoors to browse multiple sites at the same time and make reservations securely online.
Said 27-year-old business founder Andrew Norris:
“Up until now booking a camping or caravanning break in Northern Ireland has involved a bit of luck and guesswork. This sector lagged behind other tourism areas where online reservations, professional vacation management and booking software has been the norm for many years.
“The camping sector was traditionally plagued by administrative errors and double-bookings and has not had the chance to fulfil its true growth potential until now. We believe this sector could double in size through this software development and launch.”
The Belfast software development company are creating three new programming jobs and plan to roll out similar versions of their booking system across Ireland and the UK next season.
