DETECTIVES have arrested a female prison officer over alleged drugs offences a top security jail in Northern Ireland.
The 50-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing and supplying Class A and B drugs at Maghaberry prison in Co Antrim.
It is understood the officer was detained on Monday as part of a planned operation to stop drugs entering the jail.
She has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The officer could now face disciplinary action by the Prison Service.
