DETECTIVES are hunting a gang who abducted an assaulted a man in the early hours of this morning, Friday 18 April.

It has been reported that a 28 year old man was taken from an unknown location in the town by a number of men, sometime between 1am and 2am.

He was then taken in an old style Vauxhall Astra to fields on the outskirts of town and assaulted.

The 28 year old man managed to get away and later received medical treatment from the NIAS for non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with any information about this assault is asked to contact CID in Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
