POLICE are appealing for information about an assault on a man which is believed to have been a “hate crime” attack.

The man sustained an injury to his face when he was attacked by a group of men at the on 22 March last after he had walked from a nightclub.

A PSNI spokesperson said the victim “perceives this to be a hate crime.”

The incident happened at the junction of William Street and Chamberlain Street in Derry around 1.30 am

The spokesperson asked anyone with to contact police at Strand Road on the non-emergency number, 101.
