POLICE in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following an arson attack in the Broadlands Gardens area of Carrickfergus during the early hours of this morning, Saturday 15 March 2014.

Shortly after 1.00 am it was reported that an oil tank and a house in the area was on fire. Police and NIFRS attended the scene.

Substantial damage was caused to the house and damage was also caused to two adjoining properties in the incident. There were no reports of any injuries.

Police are treating this as arson with intent to endanger life and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact CID at Newtownabbey Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
