FATHER AND SON VICTIMS OF BRUTAL NORTH BELFAST BURGLARY

Burglar pictureDETECTIVES have appealed for information after a man was shot with a stun gun during a burglary in north Belfast.

He was at home on the North Circular Road with his father when three burglars broke in shortly before 11 pm on Sunday night.

Police say the gang were armed with a long-barrelled gun, a stun gun and an axe.

The victims were tied up during the robbery.

The son was shot with the stun gun and then beaten with the butt of the gun during the terrifying ordeal.

The gang of robbers later fled the house with a sum of cash and jewellery in the family’s black BMW car.

The PSNI say the car was last seen being driven towards the Divis area of west Belfast.

Detectives are now checking Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to try and track the car down.

The two men were not seriously injured during, but were left very badly shaken.
