A MAJOR search operation is being carried out on Friday night in Belfast’s River Lagan.

It followed reports that a man fell into the water near Donegall Quay around 6. 30 pm.

Fire and rescue service crews use dinghies are on the water carrying out a detailed search.

The coastguard has also been involved in the operation along with the PSNI.
