DETECTIVES are investigating after a masked gang burgled the home of two elderly women in south Belfast.

According to the PSNI, the burglars forced their way into the house at Vernon Street shortly after 9 pm on Wednesday evening.

The gang later fled with a bag containing cash in the direction of Oak Way.

Fortunately, say police, neither of the elderly ladies were injured during the burglary.
