Detectives at Newry’s Ardmore CID probe armed Co Down robbery

THE PSNI is investigating after a couple needed hospital treatment following an armed robbery at their home.

Four men stormed the house on the Rostrevor Road in Warrenpoint, Co Down around 10 pm on Sunday night

Two of the intruders are believed to have been armed with handguns.

The gang threatened the couple, locked them in a bathroom before fleeing with cash.

The alarm was raised by the couple on Monday morning when a visitor called at their home.

The PSNI say the couple were left badly shaken by the incident but not physically injured.

Detectives at Ardmore CID in Newry have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600  8000.
