A man has been found guilty of raping and sexually abusing his daughter at Coleraine Crown Court

A JURY has found a father guilty of 25 sex abuse offences against his son and daughter.

His convictions include four counts of raping his daughter at his home in Coleraine home

The 50-year-old man’s daughter had told the jury of the abuse she suffered whille staying with him.

He faced a total of 38 charges during the three-week trial at Coleraine Crown Court before Judge Gordon Kerr QC.

The jury is considering the remaining 13 charges he face.

He is one of three men who have been on trial for a string of alleged offences during the 1990s.

A family friend has been found not guilty on four out of eight charges. The jury is still considering its verdict on other charges.

They have also not yet decided on abuse charges against the man’s brother.

However, their family friend has been acquitted on four abuse charges.

Following a lunch break, the  jury has resumed its deliberations against the two brothers and the third co-defendant.
