DETECTIVES have charged a 23-year-old man with the attempted murder of two teenagers were assaulted in west Belfast.

The suspect has also been charged with threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon with intent and criminal damage.

He was held after police received reports of a 19-year-old woman and a boy aged 16 being attacked at a house in the North Howard Street area.

The incident allegedly happened around 3.30 am on Monday morning.

The victims’ injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.

The man is to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Tuesda.

The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
