Thieves steal lead from roof of historic Herdman’s Mill

POLICE are investigating a theft at one of Northern Ireland’s best known historical buildings.

The PSNI in Strabane have appealed for information after approximately 300ft of lead was stolen from the roof of Herdsman’s Mill in Sion Mills sometime between 5.15pm on Saturday last and 5.30am the following morning.

A police spokesperson asked anyone with information about the incident to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or a member of your local Neighbourhood Team directly.

The Mill, a Grade B listed building was the target for arsonists on 1 April 2011.
