RESOLUTIONS at the heart of the New Year.

And Northern Ireland’s leading energy provider Power NI believes that improving energy efficiency in the home should be a priority for homeowners in 2014.

Power NI is urging local customers to cut energy costs and run a more efficient home with the help of a simple annual boiler service.

“The boiler is one of the most overworked items in the home and almost 70% of breakdown callouts happen from October through to springtime, “says Jenny Livingstone, Energy Services Manager with Power NI.

“Giving your boiler some TLC for as little as £49.50 is an affordable way to help improve its performance and reduce your energy bills by around 10%.

“Plummeting temperatures and a lack of everyday maintenance means that a boiler breakdown can be expensive to repair. Not only will an annual boiler service help reduce the likelihood of breakdown it will also help to ensure a healthy boiler and a cosy home throughout the year.

“Annual servicing also reduces any risk of carbon monoxide poisoning – this happens when the gas that fuels your boiler isn’t burnt correctly. Carbon Monoxide cannot be seen or smelt and is extremely dangerous but our team of experts can also fit a carbon monoxide alarm in your home to give you peace of mind.”

Jenny added: “Our qualified plumbing and heating engineers will ensure that your boiler and its components are checked and cleaned. A simple service is an easy and effective way to improve safety and energy in your home this year.”
