DETECTIVES are treating a house fire in north Belfast as “malicious”.

The fire was discovered at a house in Mackey Street just after midnight on Sunday.

Two people asleep on the first floor of the house escaped by using a neighbour’s ladder.

A wheelie bin was found on fire next to the door of the house.

Detectives at Antrim Road CID have appealed for information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
