Police at Strand Road PSNI station hunting two men who stole a car in Donegal

POLICE on both sides of the border are involved in a manhunt after a woman was left badly shaken when she had her car stolen at knife-point from her home.

The incident happened in Raphoe in Co. Donegal shortly after 6.30pm on Tuesday night night.

Minutes earlier, the two men were in a blue Northern Ireland registered Volvo car that was in collision with another vehicle travelling in the same direction on the main Lifford to Letterkenny road.

The two men ran off to a nearby house where they threatened the woman with a knife before stealing her car.

They made off in the black Opel Corsa with a registation number beginning 05-DL and were last seen driving off in the direction of Letterkenny.

The car later crossed the border at Bridgend on the Derry to Buncrana Road shortly before 10.00pm.

The woman and a man driving the vehicle involved in the collision have been left badly shaken by the incident.

Police at Strand Road in Derry are assisting Gardai in the search for the two men.
