THE woman who won almost £27 million intends to stay in her home town, spread her winnings around and make a lot of people happy.
Unemployed Margaret Loughrey (48) picked up her cheque for £26,863,588.20 on Friday last after hitting the jackpot in Tuesday’s Euromillions Lottery.
The winnings – the biggest ever jackpot win in the North – are already in her bank account and she is in no rush to spend it.
Margaret, who had been out of work for four years, bought her £2 “Lucky Dip” winning ticket in SuperValu on her way home from the Job Market after picking up an application form for a job with a charity.
She said Strabane was her home and she had no intention on leaving.
She said she was going to “think it all through” and would be spreading the money around.
