Police one person remains in hospital after two car crash injured five poeple

ONE person remains in hospital this morning following a two car crash on Wednesday night.

The collision happened around 9.30 pm on the Glenshane Road near the Belfry Inn (formerly the Cross Inn), about a mile from Drumahoe on the main Derry to Belfast Road.

Five people were taken to hospital, four have since been released while the fifth has been detained.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A woman in one of the cars had to be cut free by firefighters.

The road, which was closed for a period, has since reopened to traffic.
