Sgt Brian Caskey warns of rise in street robberies in north Belfast

POLICE in north Belfast say officers are dealing with an increase in street robberies.

In particular, they are warning of a rise in the theft of mobile phones from people walking in the Antrim Road.

Some of those targeted have been using their phones when they have been snatched from their hands by thieves.

Sergeant Brian Caskey of York Road PSNI has warned the public to be on their guard.

“Please be aware of you personal security and secure personal items. Please report any suspicious activity to police.”
