Police in west Belfast appeal for information after man assaulted and his car stolen by four man gang

DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was attacked and beaten duringĀ a break-in at his home in west Belfast.

Police say four men forced their way into the house at Kenard Avenue 11 am an 11.30 am Tuesday on Tuesday morning.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was set upon by the gang and sustained an injury to the back of his head during the assault.

A woman who was in the house at the time was not injured.

The man’s silver Volkswagen Golf car was stolen from the property.

A short time later the PSNI later recovered it at Navan Green in Andersonstown.

The victim was later treated in the Royal Victoria Hospital for his injuries which are not said to be life threatening.

Detectives at Grosvenor Road CID have appealed for anyone with information about the assault and car theft to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
