Army bomb disposal robot being used to examine suspicious object at Nutts Corner roundabout in Co Antrim

POLICE say the security alert is continuing at Nutts Corner Roundabout near Templepatrick in County Antrim.

Army explosives experts were called to the scene following the discovery of a holdall at the side of the road on Friday.

The Belfast Road between Nutts Corner Roundabout and Ballykennedy Road have reopened after being closed for a time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route while the alert is ongoing.
