DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was shot in both legs on Tuesday evening.
The attack happened in the village of Cullyhanna, south Armagh.
The PSNI say a gang of men entered a house in the village around 7.30 pm and shot the man who is in his 40s.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is being treated for gunshot injuries to his legs.
However, they are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police said a number of other people who were in the house at the time were left shocked but uninjured.
Sinn Féin councillor, Colman Burns, said: “Those responsible for this attack must outline their rationale for doing this and what they hoped to achieve.
“The community in south Armagh is appalled at this incident and I would urge anyone with information to present it to the authorities.”
