The scene of the bomb alert on the Crumlin Road in north Belfast on Sunday which has now ended

A SECURITY alert in north Belfast on Sunday afternoon has ended.

Police attended the scene following the discovery of a suspicious object.

As a result, the PSNI closed the Crumlin Road between its junctions with Brompton Park and Kerrera Street and diversions are in place.

Army technical officers examine the object and declared it a hoax.

All roads in the area have now re-opened.
