DETECTIVES have arrested a second suspect over the death a young boy two months ago.
A 27-year-old woman was dramatically arrested on Wednesday as the events of the death took a new twist.
Now on Thursday, police say a 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the child’s unlawful killing.
Detectives swooped on Wednesday and detained the woman in connection with the death of a three-year-old boy in Lisburn, County Antrim.
According to the PSNI, the boy was found dead on Thursday, July 4 at a house in Trinity Terrace.
The woman had not long moved into the house before the child died.
The results of a post mortem examination on the boy’s remains had until now been described as “inconclusive”.
However, detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team launched a murder inquiry on Wednesday following fresh information.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of the child’s murder and has been taken into custody for questioning.
The second suspect, a 51-year-old, is also in custody being questioned about the circumstances leading up to the child’s death.
