BDTV: MAJELLA O’DONNELL has raised an incredible €250,000 for the Irish Cancer Society in just 24 hours.

And the money is still coming in.

In fact people donated so much after she had her hair shaved live on the Late Late Show that the system for taking the money crashed.

The Irish Cancer Society has praised Majella for her selfless fundraising efforts.

Her husband, singer Daniel, has declared how “proud” he was of his wife after the event on RTE1 on Friday night.

Majella told host Ryan Turbidy that she has just started chemotherapy.

She also revealed how she can’t pray for herself because it makes her think too much.

“I can’t pray for myself because I can’t think about it that much. I can’t sit down and say ‘God help me’ becuase I don’t feel that I need help. I can’t explain it and if it was a friend of mine diagnosed with cancer I’d be praying for them but I can’t seem to do it for myself.
