Sgt Brian Caskey warns of lead bandit thieves on the loose in north Belfast

LEAD bandit thieves have struck again, this time in north Belfast.

Last week, shops and premises had lead stolen from their roofs on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast.

It caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Shops were left flooded as heavy rain poured through where the lead once stood.

Now police in north Belfast say there are investigating reports of lead flashings being stolen from homes in the Pinkerton walk area.

Neighbour police officer Sergeant Brian Caskey said: “We would urge the public to report any suspicious activity to us immediately.”

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000.
